I am the
broker and owner of Capitol Realty. Capitol Realty opened the doors November 1,
2000 and from the first day we have been going strong and working hard to help
buyers and sellers achieve their goals. I have helped many people over my last
13 years of selling real estate and made many wonderful friendships. Living in
Clarksville until I was 8 years old and Waverly the rest of my life has given
me valuable ties and knowledge of Waverly and surrounding
communities.
Capitol Realty belongs to the MLS (Multiple Listing
Service) which is a big benefit for buyers and sellers. I am also a member of
the Butler/Bremer/Chickasaw and Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of
Realtors.
My family includes my husband Ken, who is employed at GMT in
Waverly as the Purchasing Manager. Ken is always busy as he is a member of the
W-SR Booster Club and W-SR baseball. Ken helps me out at Capitol now and then,
and we both try to keep up with our son.
Our son, Kyle, is a high school
student at W-SR. He is involved with baseball, basketball, is employed at the
Fareway grocery store and is an honor student. Kyle likes hunting, fishing, all
sports and spending time with his friends.

I have
lived in the Waverly, Iowa area for 30 years and currently reside near
Clarksville. I am a mother to three grown daughters and have six grandchildren.
I enjoy all outside activities, such as gardening and fishing. I also love
cooking and spending time with my family. I am a member of the
Butler/Bremer/Chickasaw Board of Realtors and also the Waterloo/Cedar Falls
Board of Realtors and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls MLS (Multiple Listing Service).

My name is Jim
Hurley and I have been with Capitol Realty since 2002. In 2006 I retired from
education after a 35 year career as a teacher of chemistry, physics, and
forensic science at Waverly - Shell Rock High School. My wife Janet is also a
W-SR educator. I was fortunate to receive many national recognitions while
teaching, including a Presidential Award for Excellence in Washington, D.C. in
1999, and also being named alternate Iowa Teacher of the Year in 2000. I formed
a scholarship foundation, the Waverly - Shell Rock Dollars for Scholars
Presidential Foundation, with the cash award that accompanied the 1999
Presidential recognition, and for this effort, I was awarded the 2007 Iowa
Realtor Good Neighbor Award. We now award approximately 150 scholarships and
grants annually and have developed a trust fund from which we make an award to
every qualified W-SR senior.
Janet and I are the parents of two adult
children, Dr. Timothy Hurley of Minneapolis, MN and Staci Becker of Cedar
Falls. Tim and his wife Amy have two sons, Michael and Benjamin, and Staci and
Dave, an investment specialist and KWWL commentator, have three children. Staci
was formerly a teacher of blind children, but has taken time out to raise
Christian, Anna, and Carson. Spending time on our property on the Shell Rock
River with our grandchildren, fishing, kayaking, eagle watching, and hiking
through the woods, brings the most joy to Janet and I.

I joined
Capitol Realty in 2002. My wife and I have lived in the Waverly area for 35
years. She is an RN in Cedar Falls. When I have time, I like to fish, golf and
hunt. We have two grown children, one in Waverly and the other in Iowa City.

I joined
Capitol Realty in 2006 as a salesperson. I have lived in Waverly or the
surrounding area for the past 15 years. My husband Dave works for the Bremer
County Conservation Board and owns and operates Steere Forestry and Prairie
helping landowners with tree and prairie plantings and timber stand
improvement. We have 2 boys, Tanner and Dalton. We are all involved in many
activities in the community. We are members of St. John Lutheran Church, and I
am a member of the church Board of Education and Jr. Youth Counselor. I also
coach and volunteer for the local soccer association.
